A few blocks over, cult-status jam band FUNGUS AMUNGUS are joined by HARDIG RHODE, WHAT CHEER? BRIGADE, and the JOHNNY LINGO BAND at Lupo’s, followed by the WBRU ROCK HUNT finale on SATURDAY (the 10th), with YOU SCREAM I SCREAM, SANTA MAMBA, THE WANDAS, and KEEP ME CONSCIOUS squaring off. Call 401.331.5876 for info on both shows. Some waterfront action aplenty, as the Ocean Mist (401.782.3740) should be jumping with STEVE SMITH & THE NAKEDS with guest JOHN CAFFERTY, and if you are anywhere near Bristol on Saturday, head to the Common Pub (401.253.9801) for a fantastic freebie featuring THE JESSE MINUTE, VON DOOM, and COMA COMA headlining the stoner/punk triple-dip (21+, no cover, and 3/$1 cherry bombs all night). Extended tax deadline for us RIers? Pinch $5 out and head to the 201 next Thursday (the 15th) for a pair of Best Music Poll nominees — ALLYSEN CALLERY & THE LAND OF NOD and BEN PILGRIM, with Lily Kendall opening. Doors at 9 pm, call 401.454.4581.
