William Brent Bell's film opens with a disclaimer that "the Vatican does not endorse this movie." No kidding — the Catholic Church isn't exactly known for its sense of humor. And you'd need one to be affiliated with this limp mockumentary. The film opens promisingly with police footage of a crime scene where a woman has murdered three people. Flash forward a couple of decades as the woman's daughter Isabella (Fernanda Andrade), worried that psychopathic DNA lurks in her own gene pool, heads off to Rome with a documentary filmmaker in tow, where her mother's been locked up in a psych ward. There she finds not only Mom (their first meeting is the only scary part of this rapidly risible movie), but also two renegade exorcists and a shit storm of trouble. Turns out Mom is indeed possessed — by four demons — and needs to be exorcised. Try and guess what happens when the four main characters give it a whirl.
