“Part of the coming-out process is this notion of ‘What’s wrong with me?’ or this feeling that ‘I’m different,’ ” says Simkhai. “The answer is no: you might be different from your family or a given social group, but there are millions of gay men out there, and they’re quite normal. There are guys on Grindr in Sydney, in Bangkok, in Tel Aviv — I don’t quite grasp it, but I’m excited to be part of that process.
