Like Woe? Like, Whoa

Sibilance
By PORTLAND PHOENIX MUSIC STAFF  |  December 2, 2009

• Once BRZOWSKI and MOSHE return from Europe, look for the release of the Like Woe EP, which will be available December 22 via digital distribution, with hard copies to follow in late January.

• Also dropping from MILLED PAVEMENT on December 22 is VIK44's My Way Out, a follow up to the gem-filled Was Never White.

• Geno's saw the birth of a new rootsy supergroup on the Friday after Thanksgiving: MEZCALITOS. The band feature TOM WHITEHEAD (Super Sized Chameleons, and many more), JOHN CLARKE (Bangor Symphony), fiddler MELISSA BRAGDON (Jerks of Grass), and fiddle maker JON COOPER of Acoustic Artisans.

JAEGER WELLS has just finished up a new disc with ERIC BETTENCOURT. Called Transparent Things, it's due for release by late December.

CIVIL DISTURBANCE have a new record ready for release as well, with a show December 12 at the Big Easy, with LOKI. The show will also feature the Portland debut (we think) of THOSE PEOPLE, a heavy cover band featuring former Civil D drummer NIKKO.
