Halle Berry plays Rowena, “the best investigative reporter in New York!”, and Giovanni Ribisi plays Miles, a colleague who harbors a secret crush on her. That she can’t figure this out says a lot about James Foley’s film. Rowena thinks her upcoming Big Story exposing a congressman’s affair with (gasp!) a male intern will net her a Pulitzer. For tabloid journalism? Hell, after Catwoman and now this, the Academy should demand that Berry return her Oscar. When her friend Grace (Nicki Aycox) is murdered, Rowena goes undercover at the ad agency run by Grace’s last lover (Bruce Willis). Since the script fails to supply an ending, Foley shot three. Wait for the DVD and see them all. Better yet, spend your money on something more pleasurable. Like a root canal.
