In 2011, Johnny Winter got a slew of modern blues bigwigs to join him on Roots, his first studio disc in several years, and while most of ’em — Landreth, Haynes, Trucks — sounded just fine, it’s not as if the Texas speed demon needs much help getting the job done. He’s been raising lots of sand on his own since the late ’60s. We bounced by “Be Careful With a Fool” from his Woodstock set the other day and was reminded how killer he could be. See for yourself that he still has the power at the Narrows Center for the Arts, 16 Anawan St, Fall River, Massachusetts, at 8 pm | $45 advance, $50 day of show | 508.324.1926 | narrowscenter.org
