If one is truly judged by the company they keep, then Willy Mason is well-judged, because he hangs with pretty good company. The laid-back Martha’s Vineyard-based singer/songwriter’s first record was released on Conor Oberst’s Team Love Records, he has toured with Radiohead and Death Cab For Cutie, and will spend October in Australia opening for Mumford & Sons and Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros and November in the UK with Ben Howard. Before he hits the road, Mason will perform his best-known songs (“Oxygen,” “Save Myself,” “We Can Be Strong”) and selections from his forthcoming third disc, Oh, You Restless Fugitive, at Speakeasy at Local 121, 121 Washington St, Providence, at 9 pm | $10 | 401.274.2121 | local121.com
