13th Annual RI Chinese Dragonboat Races and Taiwan Day Festival
The Pawtucket Arts Festival ramps up the diversity today. The always-popular Chinese Dragonboat Races and Taiwan Festival Day is at Festival Pier from 8 am-5 pm (rain date is Sunday). The King Creole Jazz Fest will serve up 11 hours of music at Slater Mill, with turns by the Revolutionary Snake Ensemble, Henri Smith & New Orleans Friends & Flavours (with Charles Neville), and more ($10, free under 13). And there’s an abundance of art — the First Annual Arts Marketplace is at the Armory Arts Center and the XOS Exchange Street Open Studios presents work by more than 40 artists in five renovated mill buildings (both events take place today and Sunday from 10 am-4 pm).
