Island Moving Co. enjoys staging site-specific events. For this year’s take on Dracula, they’ll be setting up shop at Seaview, 207 Ruggles Ave, Newport, which has a spooky history by way of its scene-setting use on TV’s Dark Shadows a long time ago. The ballet moves amongst the mansion’s rooms, from salon to gallery to ballroom, the macabre mood enhanced by the lofty ceilings, resonant stone floor, and dramatic lighting. “There are certainly some scenes when you feel as though you’re in an inescapable chamber,” artistic director Miki Ohlsen noted. It’s an intimate (only 85 patrons per show) and pricey ($90) experience.
