Maybe Marge Piercy wants to take over the 8 Days desk: she clearly loves to write. Piercy has amassed 17 novels (the latest is Sex Wars) and 18 poetry collections, plus a memoir (Sleeping with Cats), essays, a how-to book (So You Want To Write), and many other works. She’s also a tireless activist, bolstering the women’s movement and protesting wars in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Tonight, Piercy will share her poetry and sign books at a reading titled “Women, Words & Power.” The intimate session will take place on the stage at the Zeiterion Theatre, 684 Purchase St, New Bedford, MA, 7 pm | $10 | 508.994.2900 | zeiterion.org
