Edvard Munch painted The Scream in 1893 (and again in 1895 and 1910), and it captured the psyche of the troubled artist. He said the canvas is “the study of the soul, that is to say the study of my own self . . . I was stretched to the limit — nature was screaming in my blood.” The Newport Art Museum’s Lunch with the Artist series, hosted by Richard Tyre, will present “Edvard Munch: Seeing Life Unravel” at noon at 76 Bellevue Ave. Bring a lunch! | $5 | 401.848.8200 | newportartmuseum.org
