Dog Sees God
It’s only appropriate that a cast of teens are performing this weekend’s staging of Dog Sees God — a biting “unauthorized” Peanuts parody (written by Bert V. Royal and originally premiered Off-Broadway) that follows Charlie Brown (here: CB) and his pals into adolescence. Only now, CB’s dog has just died of rabies and he’s starting to question his sexuality (and the meaning of life) and his friends are dealing with anorexia, drug addiction, sex abuse, and other issues Charles Schulz would never have dreamed of penning. Darkly funny, it runs for three nights only.
