We’re always learning at the 8 Days desk. We just picked up some local flavor re: Bernie Worrell, the chameleonic keyboardist who is revered for his stints with Parliament/Funkadelic and Talking Heads and many other boundary-pushing projects. One of his earliest pro gigs was with the pride of New Bedford, Chubby & the Turnpikes, aka Tavares. At the time, the Turnpikes’ drummer was Joey Kramer, who later gained fame in Aerosmith.
