El-P + Killer Mike + Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire + Despot
As far as independent rap music goes, iconic NYC-bred rhymer/producer El-P is a legend on the move, still cranking out superior product via his Def Jux imprint (definitivejux.net), which is where you can find his latest acclaimed release, Cancer 4 Cure, a blurred barrage of futuristic, funky synths and thumping, woofer-shredding rhythms made to knock on New Yawk street blocks. “You should pump this shit in the future,” goes the hook on “The Full Retard,” with El-P dropping vintage bars of smack-talk.
