Every summer for a quarter-century, Big Apple Circus pitched its tents in Ninigret Park (Rt 1A, Charlestown) and tickled the masses. But the last two years were woefully Big Apple-free (man, that damn economy bites into everything ’round here). But: rejoice! The little big top (the “worst” seat is 50 feet from the ring) is returning to Charlestown for 24 shows (through July 8). Let’s hope this kicks off another 25-year run! The theme is “Dream Big!” and features big daredevilry (the Flying Cortes trapeze act, the Shandong Acrobatic Troupe), big juggling (Dmitry Chernov), big comedy illusionists (Scott Nelson and Muriel Brugman), and big animal acts (the usual horses and dogs, plus a pig, porcupine, and capybara). And this will be the last go-round for Grandma, the beloved clown persona created by Barry Lubin. Get your tickets now ($20-$50) | 401.364.3878 | charlestownrichamber.com | bigapplecircus.org
