We’re sometimes a bit slow at the 8 Days desk (today we’ll blame the heat), but we just realized that all of 2nd Story’s summer fare included plays that became hit films: A Few Good Men, Rebecca, and now Samuel Taylor’s Sabrina Fair, which was adapted for the big screen by Billy Wilder in 1954, with Audrey Hepburn playing the title character. Said title character is the daughter of a chauffeur who grows up on the Larrabee Estate in Long Island and has always been smitten with one of the family’s brothers. When said daughter of the “hired help” goes to Paris for five years and returns to the estate as a worldly woman, the romance and comedy ensues. No spoilers here re: true love’s ways and the people who try to derail it. Sabrina Fair opens at 28 Market St, Warren, on the 10th and runs through September 2 on Sunday and Wednesday at 7 pm and Thursday through Saturday at 8 pm | $25 (previews August 10-12 $15) | 401.247.4200 | 2ndstorytheatre.com
