If you’re like us at Editors' Picks Central, you won’t be indulging in a vacation (no money, no time, nope). So how about a virtual trip to Manderley? The mansion on England’s Cornish Coast is the setting for Rebecca, the 1938 novel by Daphne du Maurier adapted by artistic director Ed Shea and director Mark Peckham at 2nd Story Theatre, 28 Market St, Warren. The deceased title character haunts the proceedings, involving Maxim de Winter, his nameless second wife, and Mrs. Danvers, the nefarious housekeeper. The suspenseful tale opens at the 6th and runs Wednesday through Sunday through the 29th | $25 [$15 previews July 6-8] | 401.247.4200 | 2ndstory theatre.com
