The mission statement of RISD’s Film/Animation/Video department (aka FAV) is pretty straightforward: “to explore the time-based art of the moving image by making live action or animated films — or a hybrid of the two.” In May, the students share their visions with you. The FAV Fest will premiere works by 30 seniors at the RISD Auditorium, 17 Canal Walkway, Providence, today through the 19th at 7 pm. Screenings are $5, $3 with a student ID (the cinematic celebration gets started on the 15th at 7 pm with a gallery exhibit and performances at 204 Westminster St, third floor; admission is free) | 401.454.6233 | risd.edu/FAV
