Not About the Buildings: Micro-Memoir!
Ready for another Micro-Memoir! session? The literary events organization Not About the Buildings and the Providence Athenaeum are ready for you. Workshop facilitator Karen Donovan will present a few themes to help frame your short-short ruminations (200-word limit); a half-hour or so later, you’re encouraged to read your terse tale. As reported in these pages last year, Donovan offers the following advice: don’t be afraid to tell what really happened; use detail; a good beginning and a strong finish can blot out a middling middle. Refreshments will be served at 5 pm; the writing and sharing runs from 5:30 to 8 pm at 251 Benefit Street | Free | 401.421.6970 | providenceathenaeum.org
Write and read aloud 200-word memoirs based on an object/muse to be presented by workshop facilitator/short-short prose pioneer Karen Donovan | 5-8 pm
