Third Annual Providence Children's Film Festival
The Third Annual Providence Children’s Film Festival will cover the entire spectrum of the wonder of youth. Fourteen features and 40 or so shorts will dazzle (the stop-motion magic of Sandman and the Lost Sand of Dreams), provoke thought (Wintertochter and The Secret Letter both address the question, “What would happen if you found something that made you wonder if you really know your own Dad?”), and move you (I Am Kalam follows a child in India who is determined to escape poverty through education). And there will be plenty of sheer delight in the animated works (including the Best of the New York International Children’s Film Festival 2011) and tales told from a child’s point of view. Screenings are at the Cable Car Cinema (204 South Main Street), the RISD Museum (20 North Main Street), and the RISD Auditorium (17 Canal Walkway), through the 21st | Most screenings $7.50 adults, $5 kids, some are free | providencechildrensfilmfestival.org
The program features 14 feature-length films and 40 short films from 20 countries, to be screened at Cable Car Cinema [204 South Main St], the RISD Museum [20 North Main St], and the RISD Auditorium [17 Canal Walkway]
