A co-worker hit last month’s Live Bait session and was jazzed to be engaged in a social network that didn’t involve Likes or Timelines. The theme of the February gathering is “Let It Linger.” If you have a tale to share, put your name to the fishbowl and see if you get called (and don’t ramble: there’s a six-minute limit). If you just want to listen? Here’s how host Phil Goldman describes the human touch that the gatherings yield: “When we hear a total stranger tell an open, honest story from the heart, we identify, we feel for them, we connect to our shared humanity. And as a result, the story has a resonance. It stays with us, like a memory that we can’t quite put our finger on. Like a song lyric, an aroma, an almost familiar face, it lingers and we cannot shake it. And why should we?” Prepare to linger and savor at 95 Empire Street, Providence, at 10 pm | $7 | 401.489.2555
