"Dana Levin: A Classical Realist In the 21st Century," an exhibit of paintings
Bert Gallery, 540 South Water Street, Providence, reminds us that many aesthetes believe realistic painting is a ho-hum approach to art in this digital world of ours. But if anyone can make a case for the emotional depth of such an endeavor, it’s Dana Levin. She went from school in Chicago to a career in Florence, refining her deep self-portraits and engaging still lifes. “She continues the evolution of the vital and ongoing realistic tradition to paint a work of fine art that strikes a chord in the viewer and deepens their sense of humanity,” says the gallery. The show runs through February 18 | 401.751.2628 | bertgallery.com
