The Tim Taylor Blues Band has become one of the most energetic, interesting bands to ever play this region, original yet still true to the musical tradition. Tim began playing blues harmonica at fifteen after hearing Sonny Boy Williamson II on a recording with the Yardbirds and falling in love with the sound. After years of playing alone, listening to any recordings that he could get his hands on, and listening to the many great local players during the heyday of the local blues scene, he felt ready to take the next step. Tim met a guitarist named Jeff Stanhope and they hit it off, starting a four piece Blues R&B band called the Jaywalkers. After several years of playing regularly around New England, Tim moved on to front Loaded Dice, a legendary local band who have been active since the early 70's, and still are till this day. Next Tim moved on to an outfit called Blueswagon with the late Rick Mendes, working frantically for quite a while when Tim received a call from Mike Dinallo, guitarist and founder of The Radio Kings, asking if Tim would work with him. The next six years were spent with Mike playing the New England circuit. After Mike decided to devote more time to producing records along with studio work, Tim was considering what course to take when he happened upon young female guitarist Marlie Wänseth. From the first note they played together, Tim knew that there was great musical possibilities that needed exploration. Tim's harmonica and vocal style has a unique blend of all the greats who have influenced him including but not limited to, Sonny Boy II, James Cotton, Walter Horton, Little Walter Jacobs, George Smith, Howling Wolf, Sam Myers, Muddy Waters, Jimmy Rogers, Eddie Taylor, Lester Butler, Paul Butterfield, Kim Wilson and Sugar Ray Norcia. Tim has shared the stage with some of the greats in the blues world some of which include, Duke Robillard, Sugar Ray Norcia, Roomfull of Blues, Jimmy Johnson, Johnny Hoy, The Palladins, Barrence Whitfield and Vidar Busk.
