Bruce Dickinson
Summary: Bruce Dickinson (born Paul Bruce Dickinson, August 7, 1958 in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, England) is the lead singer of heavy metal band Iron Maiden . Previous to Iron Maiden he was a member of Styx (1976) (not to be confused with the American band of the same name), then went on to sing for Speed (1977 - 1978) (not to be confused with the female Japanese pop group of the same name). When Speed split up, he joined Shots , leaving in the summer of 1979 to join Samson . In 1981 he was approached by Steve Harris and Rod Smallwood and asked to audition for Iron Maiden.
