website: http://www.Myspace.com/brokedownserenade
Founded in winter months of 2008, Five close Friends/Musicians decided to form a new group, they deemed themselves “The Brokedown Serenade” a name derived from the current economical climate, in hopes to keep spirit’s high. “if I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousands times, I may only have lint in my pocket, but I got song in my heart”- W.M. Deriving they’re sounds from old Blues, Country, and R n’ R Records Like Howlin Wolf, The Band, Various Stax records artists, Bessie Smith, Patsy Cline, The Stones, The Beatles, and.. well… you name it, they set out to write and play as much as possible. When asked ‘genre’ they are I was replied with “You cant be concerned with all that non-sense…. The blues is the roots, the rest is the fruits… to quote Louie Armstrong..” –D.H. Playing sets of mainly original music with the occasional Lead Belly or Hound Dog Taylor ‘Rag’ as they put it, With a Loud RAT-TAT-TAT and LA DE DA DA! This young group, made up of two girls and three boys with an average age of 23, has its sights on a mature vibe, but with one youthful kick. Be sure to check out these kids, and give they’re page a Listen! WWW.MYSPACE.COM/BROKEDOWNSERENADE ~ Jonathan Rush
