Brown Bird

The multi-talented duo of David Lamb (guitar/banjo/percussion/vocals) and MorganEve Swain (fiddle, cello, upright bass, vocals) comprise Brown Bird (brownbird.net), who are currently on tour behind their captivating new EP The Sound of Ghosts, highlighted by a slot at the Newport Folk Festival on July 31. At their packed release party at the Met a few weeks back, we witnessed punk-rock kids break into a spontaneous mosh pit of square-dancing when the duo brought the house down (with help from MorganEve's brother and Zox violinist Spencer Swain) on "By the Reins" and "Cast No Shadow," careening along at the tempo of a horseback train robbery.
